South East Galvanizers have been on the same site in Witham since 1962. The New Plant was opened in 2012 and is one of the most up to date plants in the country and now employs 80 people at the site. We are based in Crittal Road on the Western Industrial estate (CM83DR). We provide a service throughput the South East of England with a Modern Fleet of Vehicles. The company Galvanizes steel work for customers who are looking to protect the steel work from corrosion. Galvanizing Operatives

We are looking for Galvanizing operatives, people who can work on their own initiative, whilst being part of a successful team, with a high standard of Health and Safety Awareness.

We are looking at recruiting a number of operatives who are prepared to work over three shifts;

The 6-2 and 2-10 shifts rotate on a weekly basis

The 10-6 shift is permanent

Our operatives are expected to perform a variety of roles; Training is given in house for most roles, whilst third party training is available for more specific tasks.

Main roles include:

Jigging work- This process involves attaching steel sections to steel jigs. Forklifts trucks and overhead cranes are used as well. There is also a lot of manual handling involved in this process.

Pickling of work -Carried out by using overhead cranes to lift and lower the jigged sections into the   process tanks for cleaning purposes.   

Galvanizing work - Using an overhead crane to immerse and withdrawal the steel jigs from the molten zinc.

Unloading -The unloading of processed work from the Jig, removing spikes, packing and banding. Manual Handling is required in this process.

Yard Work - The safe Loading and Unloading of Steel work from Vehicles using a Forklift Truck.

The hourly rate for the rotating day shift is approximately £11.50 per hour including shift allowance and average bonus the nightshift is an average £13.00 per hour.
